    Coaching Qualifications

    • ILM Level 7 certificate in Executive Coaching & Mentoring, Institute of Leadership and Management and Oxford Brookes University
    • Advanced Certificate in Professional Coaching (ICF and EMCC accredited), Transcend International - Coaching and Training
    • MSc. Human Resource Development & Consultancy, Birkbeck College London, University of London
    • Msc. Interdisciplinairy Social Sciences, University of Utrecht

    Professional Background

I started my career nearly two decades ago as a children’s social worker in the UK. I then moved to a women’s aid charity, where I set up and managed a pan-London domestic and sexual violence telephone advice service.

Whilst working full-time I studied part-time for a graduate diploma in law and convinced myself that all I wanted to do with my life was to become a corporate lawyer. Luckily, I was not able to fool anyone else and, due to the ongoing financial crisis at the time, law firms reduced their annual intakes forcing me to reconsider this path.

Eager to progress in some way or another I did a masters degree in Human Resource Development and Consultancy. I leveraged this qualification to transition into Recruitment and then HR Business Partnering at a global international development company. Then I got pregnant and lost my job (completely unrelated, of course…). This gave me the opportunity to further explore my interest in Executive Coaching and Mentoring by doing an ILM Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate in the subject.

Soon after the birth of my daughter we moved to Hong Kong for my husband’s job and, in that same year, I set up my coaching practice initially focussing on supporting women who were going back to work after a career break. I now work more broadly with professionals who find themselves at a crossroads in their career and are struggling to work out what to do next.

    What drew you to coaching?

My motivation for coaching comes from the lessons I have learned by having to navigate my career through both the personal barriers (i.e. self-doubt, etc.) that I put myself and all the challenges that life has thrown at me along the way. These experiences have really made me appreciate what it means to ‘Become aware of the things that we cannot change, have the courage to change the things that we can and gain the wisdom to know the difference.’

I see my role as coach to facilitate this for my clients.

I offer a non-judgmental, listening ear; and become an accountability partner who will challenge and encourage them to build resilience by turning weaknesses into strengths and failures into future successes.
