Testimonials

Working with Nicola has helped me to reduce overwhelm and get me unstuck with organising my family’s move to Germany. With her professional but warm manner and her gentle way to challenge my mindest, I have learned to shift my mindset to one of abundance of options and opportunities. I was facing a road block that seemed insurmountable, but through working with Nicola, I realised that in most situations, that seem out of my control, there is always something I can take control of and influence.

Nicola is a very warm and encouraging coach and I felt in a safe space when working with her. Nicola asked me some great thought provoking questions and as a result I came to the realisation that planning is key for me to moving forward I appreciated Nicola’s challenging questions to open up my mind on what, and how much, I could do in reaching my goals – I’d never have thought of some of these ideas without Nicola’s support.

    Coaching Qualifications

    • Personal Performance Coaching Diploma (The Coaching Academy)

    Professional Background

I have worked in HR for almost 20 years, across a number of sectors including Policing, NHS, charity and Higher Education. Since having children myself, I have been passionate about working with organisations to create healthy, supportive working environments for parents. This involves ensuring that HR polices and practices are developed and implemented in a way that supports parents, including flexible working and maternity/parental schemes.

I also volunteer for the charity Pregnant then Screwed, providing advice and guidance to women who are facing challenging situations in the workplace which may involve discrimination due to their pregnancy.

    What drew you to coaching?

I have worked in a people oriented profession for most of my career and have always enjoyed using my skills to help and support people in the workplace. I have often been more drawn to working 1:1 with people and helping individuals through particularly tricky employment situations.

During my HR career I have seen time and time again how the traditional mechanisms of organisations work against, rather than for, working parents and since having children of my own and experiencing those very challenges myself when returning to work after maternity leave, I have wanted to support other mums in the same situation.

I had coaching myself during this time and it really helped me to understand myself better, it helped me overcome low confidence and self-doubt and ultimately led to me taking the next step in my career in a role that worked around my family.

I now love working 1:1 with clients which I do alongside my HR role. My experiences in the workplace, both personally and from a professional perspective, make me an empathetic coach for people who are going through any sort of difficulty in the workplace. It gives me great pleasure to be that person who can support clients to thrive at work and as a parent.
