As the last days of summer start to fade, many of us working mums are left with that familiar feeling of trying to squeeze every last drop out of the season, all while juggling the never-ending demands of work, home, and, well… life. It’s no wonder we feel overwhelmed! But how often do we brush off those feelings with a simple, “It’s just this,” or “It’s just that”?

You’ve probably found yourself saying things like: 😴 “It’s just the lack of sleep.” 😵‍💫 “It’s just my hormones.” 😓 “It’s just this tricky phase at work/home.”

And when those nagging thoughts and emotions creep in, it’s easy to dismiss them with a, “I’m just not feeling 100% at the moment.”

Maybe you’ve chalked it up to that dreaded mum guilt or the relentless juggle struggle that seems to have become a part of modern motherhood. Maybe you’ve accepted that this is “just the way it is now.” But here’s something important that you need to hear: It’s never ‘just’ anything.

That overwhelming feeling you can’t quite put into words? It’s not all in your head. You’re not alone, and you certainly don’t have to ride this out on your own. What you’re going through is monumental. You’re navigating your own personal transformation while nurturing your little ones through theirs.

The early, messy years of motherhood – when you’re no longer a brand-new mum but your world still feels upside down – are tough. And that’s okay.  So, the next time you find yourself downplaying your struggles, remember this: Your feelings are valid. You’re growing, evolving, and becoming the mum you’re meant to be. This transformation deserves to be acknowledged, celebrated, and most importantly, supported.
