Let’s get one thing straight: if you’re surviving motherhood, you’re already way overqualified to run a business.

The interweb would have you believe that starting a business is some elite, MBA-level challenge. Meanwhile, you’ve been running an unpaid, 24/7 operation with zero training, zero sleep and a CEO (your child) who screams at you for giving them the wrong colour cup.
Motherhood is not some kind of shackle. It’s not a setback. And it most certainly isn’t a reason to not start that business. It is the ultimate business bootcamp.
So instead of waiting for some imaginary moment of readiness, here are 5 ways you’re already set up for massive business success:

1. Time Management: Running on precision, not time blocks
Us Mums juggle nap times, school runs, meal planning and 700 after-school activities. Productivity apps don’t hold a candle to the get-it-done efficiency of a mother squeezing a full day’s work into a 30-minute window while Paw Patrol plays in the background.
Business works the same way. It’s about maximising time, focusing on priorities and learning to work smarter, not harder.

2. Problem-solving: Adapt, fix, move on
Motherhood demands quick thinking. Tantrum in the supermarket? No snacks in the house? School project due tomorrow that no one thought to mention? Solutions are found, meltdowns are avoided (sometimes) and life moves on.
Business is the exact same. Clients ghost? Offers flop? Tech breaks? We adapt, we fix, we move on.

3. Negotiation: The Art of Getting What You Want
Toddlers refusing to wear socks in winter. Pre-teens dodging vegetables. Convincing a small human that bedtime is a privilege, not a punishment.
This is not parenting. This is high-level, expert negotiation.
Selling, pricing and standing firm in business decisions isn’t new. The exact same skills used to get a child to cooperate with you can be used to close deals and run a successful business.

4. Resilience: No CEO training is tougher than motherhood
Teething, tantrums, midnight wake-ups, surprise school closures, a never-ending cycle of ridiculous demands (I want the butter ON TOP of the jam, Mummy!!)… us Mums are built to handle total chaos.
Business setbacks don’t stand a chance against the resilience developed from years of functioning on 4 hours broken sleep and making sh*t happen anyway.

5. Leadership: Running an empire daily
Mothers are the absolute Queens of making tough calls, taking responsibility, setting the tone, and guiding others.
And let’s be honest – pretty much every household runs because ‘someone’ (that’s YOU) sets the rules, makes the schedules, handles the crises and leads with bags of authority.
That right there is leadership. That is big fat CEO energy.
Motherhood didn’t hold you back. It prepared you for this.
The skills, the mindset, the adaptability – it’s all already there in buckets. Business just puts it all to work in a different way.
And this is exactly what I do: Help ambitious, talented women stop waiting for the “right time” and start businesses that work around their life, not the other way around.
If the idea of building something on your terms excites you, but also makes you bum quiver a little, that’s where I come in. Through a mix of mindset coaching, EFT tapping, and no-BS business strategy, I help badass women take that leap from employee to entrepreneur (and with the added Brucie-Bonus of doing it without social media).
No, you don’t need another qualification. No, you don’t need a perfect plan. You just need to get started.
